Auto Arrange allows you to automatically adjust the photo layout of a book or calendar page when you add an additional photo to the page. It differs from Shuffle and Shuffle Gallery in the that it works as you add photos to the page, not after, and you can turn it on or off. When it is on (see right), the photos get rearranged as you add them; when it is off, the photos land where you drop them.
To use the feature, first click the AUTO ARRANGE button, and then add a photo. The layout will adjust to produce a nice arrangement with the new photo incorporated. Repeat for as many photos as you want on the page.
Below are three images of a book page with Auto Arrange on, after adding the first photo (left), the second photo (middle), and the third photo (right).
When using Auto Arrange, keep in mind:
- If you drop a photo on top of another on the page, Auto Arrange will assume that you want to replace the original photo with the new one. So you need to drop the photos in a blank part of the page for Auto Arrange to function.
- Auto Arrange only works when you drop a photo on the page. It will not adjust the arrangement if you resize or move the photo, or whether you delete a photo or it's photo area.
- Auto Arrange is available for both books and calendars, but it is not shown for certain designs. If you select a book design, the assumption is that you don't want to mess around the design.
- When creating collage prints the Auto Arrange button is not displayed, but it is always in effect. That is, as you add photos to your collage and remove them, they will auto arrange.
